Marty that grey Toulouse looks good. By this afternoon I bet you see it moving more. Remember the more they move the quicker the yolk absorbs too.

How are feeling about the Sebbies movement? If they seem to be not doing well think about helping.

Marty, your toulouse is looking great!! If I may suggest placing a shop towel or cheese cloth under him.... so when he pops out, he won't drag his navel on the wire just in case it is not fully closed up.

Yes, I had to go wash the shelf liner I prefer, cause he got some of that stuff on it, and I knew it would need to be clean for the sebs. It'll be back shortly.

He's quiet, though. He's got a bit of yolk left.

I just checked the seb/little toul. again. All have activity, maybe even got woke up by the light. They were set on the evening of Monday March 12, late. Probobly 9or 10 pm. I'm gonna let them rest today, I think. No internal pips yet, but what do you think?? I know the toulouse is still absorbing yolk, and doesn't peep a lot, so I'm thinking I'll give them a bit more time.

Marty.. so Erin toulouse is day 30, and the other goosies are day 28?

When hatching, my toulouse babies were much quieter than my africans.... which are both quieter than ducks.

Yes, I think so. do you count the first day as day one if you set them late?? I know the sebs were set the 12th. I think holding pattern for now. I'm a little worried about shrink wrap, but It would be better if they pipped internally before I go poking holes. Hope they cooperate and I don't do anything foolish.

Day 1 is the day after they are set unless you set them very early in the morning (8am or earlier).

I personally run the days from the time set. So, if I set at 3pm, each new day thereafter begins at 3pm. So, for your sebbies, I would assume that day 29 starts at 9-10pm tonight.

I understand the dilemma of hands off and HOPE no shrink wrap vs. jumping in to pip egg too soon when it is doing its thing. Today is day 26 for my cayugas and I am watching them like a hawk (so to speak). If they do not start clicking by mid-afternoon... I will be candling and if necessary, pipping them.

Thank the stars that Erin's toulouse is giving me no concern. It is looking fantabulous on day 26.

If the sebs havn't pipped by this afternoon, I guess I'll pip externally (and internally?) and put them in the 80% bator. I wish I had egg sonogram.

Hatching is so gosh darn stressful when you are dealing with only a handful of quality stock eggs and store bought styro bators. Wouldn't it be nice to have a commercial cabinet. I bet it takes a lot of the pressure off.
