That's why I only use the ones I build....less stress and better hatches.

I want to build one. DH (a very gifted handyman) has promised to build me a bator, and we've looked at some plans. I can't see me buying a cabinet for my summer ducks eggs, and whatever I get in spring, but building one that works and has an electronic thermostate would be a dream. Especially now that there are so many varieties to keep up with.

I ordered some blue quail belgium d'anver bantums from soggy bottem bantems, some pure BBS Ameraucans, and of course the buff dewlaps and toulouse and sebs. Oh, and the birds I'll be getting from Celtic, I'll definatley want to keep up my egg flocks for the Black Copper morans. Yep, gonna need one bigger bator, I'm tired of all the styros.

My sister lives next to springfield MO, in Pleasant Hope. How far are you from there? Can you post a pic of your bator??

Celtic - you want to hatch some turkeys for me while your doing the other eggs? There may still be time. I want chocolate turkeys again, but I'm tired of the turkey death hatch. Can you get some eggs? I can get some breedor eggs sent to you...... Let me know.

Mohillbilly, I understand. Too late for me though, since I am pretty sure I will be setting my last set of goose eggs for the season later today. Guess I'll just have to live with a few more stressful hatches over the next month.

Marty, I don't know a darn thing about turkeys... but the place that I got my toulouse hatchlings has turkeys too. Did you check out their site?

Live turkeys can be shipped April-August only USPS. Surely there is someone who raises them that can ship them directly instead of shipping me eggs and then hoping they hatch. Check chocolate turkey poults for sale via google, and the poultry online auction sites.

I have, and the good ones are sold out for the year. Oh well, Chicks offered to send me more eggs for shipping, so I'll probobly try again, but with misgivings. Murry McMurray still has them, but its hard to find ones with even coloration worth continuing to breed.
