Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Have a goose story for you guys. This morning, my geese decided 8am was not early enough to let the goslings out of the coop, so they headed over to my house to honk at me. As I was faster walking to the coop than the geese, they flew from my house back over to the coop. But the gander didn't time his landing right and literally crash landed into the coop gate. It didn't seem to phase him, but it sure was pretty funny to watch.

It is day 29. I set them around 6:00pm eastern on March 14th. I will have to take a picture when I get home but the one was almost all the way around this morning and the other one had just a small external pip when I left the house.

They are hatching that early??? What temp did you incubate? What type of bator? Still or forced air?

For me, both of my sets of africans hatched on day 30 and my last set of utility toulouse hatched on day 31. My Erin toulouse egg on day 29 is just now internally pipping and should hatch out on day 31. From what I can tell, the dewlaps look to be on track for a day 31 hatching too.

Here is Molasses:
welcome Molasses!

Too funny!

Hahaha! That's great! "Ma, hurry it up!"

How long should it take for the polyvisol to work? I've been giving it to my crooked necked duckling for probably about 5 days now and haven't seen any improvement. Am I not giving enough do you think? Does it sometimes just not work?

Marty I knew you had said an educator you respected didn't like it, and respect their thoughts on it too. However I know a lot of book smart people with little practical application knowledge. Hope you find success with it like we have.
QJ, the longer cooling should show improvements for you. I have to do longer and more often cooling just to stay on track because of the humidity here. Are these eggs from Lisa?

I have a digital thermometer that doesn't have a decimal point but does measure humidity and the majority of the time it read 99 with sometimes 100 temp and between 45 and 56 for humidity. It is a hovabater forced air. I was hand turning the eggs around 7:00am and 7:00pm everyday and spraying them with a spray bottle at 7:00pm. Around day 26 - 27 when they start to dip and I can see movement in the lower end, I move them to another hovabater forced air to hatch. That one is between 97 to 98 with humidity around 55 - 60.

So far I have hatched if I include these two 17 little pains in the butt out of 21 that were fertile which is 80% success. The majority of mine have either hatched on the 28th or 29th day. I have 11 more that will be hatching in the next two weeks.

If you know anyone in the Connecticut area that wants some geese, let me know because I went a little crazy hatching this year.

Those are great rates, exner!! And lucky you do not have to wait the extra 2 days, for some reason. I can't wait to see pics of the buff dewlap babies. I am so excited for mine to hatch next week!!!

I'm waiting with you on the Baby Toulouse!!!!

Hey Erin, your baby toulouse is rocking it. His body is fully in air cell with text book shadowing progression. He is doing the internal pip extended vibration followed by hard jerking motions. I have in my hatcher with Molasses and check on him while I'm watching over Molasses. He has me feeling worry free about him internally pipping today without any help.
