Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

I'm so annoyed with thermometers!! What do you guys use? I got 2 digitals from walmart last night, they measure humidity and temp. Well, they are way different than the other traditional ones I have in the incubators! How the heck do I know what is right?

Goosed, there are ways to test and calibrate gauges, but I have not done that. Instead, I initially bought all different kinds of gauges from a few different stores, then set them together in bator. The ones that matched I kept, and the ones that didn't I returned. One of the gauges is a digital that I got at Home Depot. Accurite is brand. Since then, I bought 3 of them and again set them in bator. Again, they have all been spot on.

the brand I just bought is accurite as well. I can't imagine those being wrong. But they are a few degrees lower that the others. Way to wait until I have eggs almost hatching, not to mention one hatched, to be dealing with this. I feel pretty stupid right now. Not having a good day anyways.

Hey Erin, your baby toulouse is rocking it. His body is fully in air cell with text book shadowing progression. He is doing the internal pip extended vibration followed by hard jerking motions. I have in my hatcher with Molasses and check on him while I'm watching over Molasses. He has me feeling worry free about him internally pipping today without any help.

The only other thermometer that was accurate for me was a petstore aquarium glass thermometer. I found the meat therm, coffee therm, reptile gauges, and flimsy thing that came with bator to all be off. The other humidity gauge that was accurate was for a cigar humidor box.

You are obviously doing something right since your goose hatched out great!! I wouldn't stress it with the upcoming ones.

Goosed, I don't know... I imagine if you wanted to spend top dollar, the expensive gauges would be reliable.

Are you talking about the square accu-rite that has the humidity high and low and then a little house and the the temp high and low? If so, that is what I am using.
