Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

Are you talking about the square accu-rite that has the humidity high and low and then a little house and the the temp high and low? If so, that is what I am using.

Ya that's what I bought too! Are those reliable? They are reading a few degrees less than the standard kind with the red line. I don't know which one to believe!! Because if those are right then I'm cooking way to low on the temps!

I'm so annoyed with thermometers!! What do you guys use? I got 2 digitals from walmart last night, they measure humidity and temp. Well, they are way different than the other traditional ones I have in the incubators! How the heck do I know what is right?
Accurite.

Goosed, there are ways to test and calibrate gauges, but I have not done that. Instead, I initially bought all different kinds of gauges from a few different stores, then set them together in bator. The ones that matched I kept, and the ones that didn't I returned. One of the gauges is a digital that I got at Home Depot. Accurite is brand. Since then, I bought 3 of them and again set them in bator. Again, they have all been spot on.
Yep, I like these too. And when I tested humidity, they were w/i 5% of exact, which is not too bad.

Iain, hope toulouse gets here right on schedule!

Sqeeky is doing great. Its so funny to see it next to the little seb. One is big and wide, and the other is more streamlined.

Celtic-I have one Seb, and Erins Toulouse Other two died.

I had the goslings in the hatch bator set on 90, to keep them out of trouble while I worked. The toulouse is 2 days hatched today, and the seb is one. Both are doing real well, and I'm getting their non slip brooder toghater this afternoon. I just want to be able to watch them, since the seb. is still a little flippy. I would be disappointed to lose another. I don't think I'll get anymore seb eggs this year, I'll just plan on getting a couple from celtic, and it'll all be good. I might need to get muscovey eggs, though.

Well s@#%!! So should I turn up the temps so that the accurite reads correctly? I have been using the little crappy red line ones, but they are such a pain and seems like they are always changing. Plus you have to crane your neck through the bator windows and look at them just right to read them correctly. So I decided...Hey, imagine I just had a digital that, at a quick glance, would tell me the exact info I desire without needing a chiropractor afterwards...
My dreams were quickly squashed when I realized the difference in the temps. Like 3-5 degrees! wth!

So my not suppose to hatch until Friday babies just started racing to get out. 1 grey saddleback out and Peaches first baby is out and gave me a scare! Had to triage some bleeding since it shoved it's way out and busted a vein. Silly thing had zipped maybe 1/3 the way around and then just stopped and pushed. One more to go, but it's wrong way and I am not helping it until tomorrow.

Now to see what color Peaches first ends up being. It's not a grey so we have Buff or Lilac as choices.

Marty, sorry you ended up with only the one Sebbie. Glad it and the Toulouse are doing well though.

Be sure to read up on housing needs for the Sebbies since they don't shed waypter like smooth geese they need protection from strong winds and rains so not to become chilled as adults when outside.

By Saturday they both will be ready for finely chopped dark greens only a minut amount along with their waterfowl starter. Until then just the starter and water.

 got in from picking up the teen from school to wrong way zipping and pushing out. Now wrong way is wrapped up in a paper towel sleeping bag to keep it quiet since its abdomen wasn't closed up yet.

Darn little brats need to follow the game plan.

Wrong way back right, Peaches baby back left and right way up front.
