Ruh roh... I put the pair back in their pen about 5 minutes ago. Buff baby has been crying nonstop for me ever since, even with his buddy there. Hope he gets over it soon!

10 minutes now... non stop crying... good thing I have to leave now for an errand and will be gone for an hour. It's easier to exercise tough love when I'm not here.

Thank you for sharing the great pictures!! When I had one gosling & went to bed or for some reason couldn't have her with me, I covered her big plastic tub with a towel. I would use a big enough towel so that it didn't hang into the tub, because she would pull it into the tub with her if it drooped down and a couple of times climbed up on the towel pile and hopped out, which was a long fall at her size then. My husband didn't think I needed to leave a part of it opened for fresh air but that just didn't seem right to me. I'm trying to say that I don't know if I needed to or not, but I would leave a few inches open at the top. She would always lie down there with a stuffed teddy bear, so I put her food and water at the other end. Anyway it did start working after a few days. I thought of it because of the way I had seen people put material over caged birds (parakeets, etc.) I was SO grateful that it seemed to work quickly.
