Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

How is everyones eggs looking?

Whos has ordered more eggs? I just set some more jumbo pekings, and all the goose eggs are looking great. I havn't tossed one questionable one yet, becasue its kinda dirty and its hard to see spiders.

I set 5 today.. have 6 to set tomorrow.. and still waiting on a few to get here
the first 5 have slightly detached air cells..
out of the last 6 .. 5 look perfect and 1 has a little wiggle to the air cell...

I'm also waiting on some muscovy eggs to arrive since my girls have been very stingy with the eggs so far

Hey Marty.

I set 5 buff dewlaps last night and have 4 cayuga eggs being shipped out tomorrow. Today is day 14 for my 7 grey dewlaps. And that's it for me!! I'm happy to turn my bators off and enjoy watching all the babies I have hatched grow up.

Hey Marty,

We have two racks of goose eggs still to go, hatching right through the third week of May now with them. 1 rack of SA eggs, and setting EE eggs to fill an order for 25 chicks.

A few of the geese are still laying, but happy to see it is slowing and we will have one large flock again soon.

Our son will be taking over the bators soon setting his BcM eggs and continuing his experiments.

I did my day 14 weight check on the 7 grey dewlap eggs and found my weight loss to be all over the place. I have one egg that is losing too much, so I put it into the other bator with higher humidity. All the other eggs are coming in between 9-13% loss, so misting/cooling every day and running bator dry. One looks like it is not going strong and may quit, but all the others are frisky swimmers. I had 2 propped up with weird air cells. One has stabilized, although slanted more on the side, so I laid it down. The other is getting there, but it is looking very peaks/valleys, so chances are good baby will not position itself properly for hatching. In all, it looks like 6 will make it to lockdown, but I only feel good about 4 hatching.

Goosed, you may really want to reconsider ordering eggs and/or goslings directly from Carole?

Well Celtic, we went out and played our last round of "custom croquet" in the future sebbie pen. We have a better lawn, but its kinda fun to go set up the wires around the pond, avoiding rocky patches here and there, and the way DH and I play with the girls, its more like miniature golf than true American croquet (sp?), but its fun! We have a big smooth area thats 40 x 50 for when our die hard friends come over, but we wanted to play in the pond garden once again before it had poo from pretty babies growing up to be georgous. It'll be a fun addition for this summers visitors.

How old will the babies be when they arrive? I need to know what to have ready for them.
