Here we go again - I'm hatching more goslings!!

We have returned from picking up our buff girl after surgery.

Diagnosis: abscess from an old bite wound that got infected. According to the vet, it is possible that it was not obvious before shipping and the stress of the trip caused it to balloon, but I'm frustrated. She must have been hurting pretty bad during travel from Cali to Utah, only to get picked up from the post office, then taken straight to a vet clinic for surgery to her face. We won't even get into what it cost to treat her.

Treatment: They lanced her face and drained the pus, which should make her feel better almost immediately.. Her post-op care is a bit intense, as we have to stick topical into lanced opening twice a day for the next week, which causes it to bleed, and is not at all pleasant for her. Then, the vet wants to see her next Friday.

Prognosis: 100% recovery.

Iain, I'm so glad that your baby is coming along. I'm sure she'll still be beautiful once all the fathers come in. Its true that your relationship with her may not be a buddy situation - the sweet greay sebbie from celtic with angel wing deeply resents me catching it all the time and avoids me now - but thats just life. Can't be buddies with them all, nature is simply agaisnt it.

BTW - I've got to wrap the wing again Took it off today, and no imporvement. How long do I leave it on, anyway?

I've got an external pip with the sebbie baby. Shes happy and peeping. (he?)

S/he is here! Hatched out last night, and since my bators are in my MB walk-in (I'm no clothes horse) I've been listening to her opinion since about 2 am. She does have an opinion, for sure.

I can see that Luna is gonna have a lap buddy.

I'm ok with a couple of pet geese. After ducks all these years, its nice to have somebody who appreciate me!

In fact, I'm no sebbie expert to be sure, but I think she's gonna be white. SHes got the kinda pinkish beak and feet, plus shes all yellow except on top of here head. Kinda reminds me of the two from Celtic that are white (and feather in white still). More pink in the beak, and seems to be yellower all over. I'll post pics in a bit.

Aww Congrats Marty!!

Yes, its a Lisa egg.

I'm gonna text you when I wrap the goose again today, and post a pic, so I can be sure I wrapped the bloody thing right this time! I don't mind his feathers, but I'd hate to have him with a fault I can prevent. I clearly didn't do it right last time.
