Here we go again!

holy crap!!!!!!!!!!! me and my wife and son all just got to witness the 3rd BL polish egg hatch...what awesome timing that was...just amazing!

BB...yeah she is very fond of the chickens now...and i have a HUGE enclosure for them so she is not so worried about the size of the flock now...although she has made it very clear im to buy no more chicks or eggs and that i have to get rid of any roosters making noise that the neighbours deemsunreasonable!

By the way BLP # 4 has chipped out a nice quarter sized hole in his/her shell...so hopefully the humidity and temp seems to be right this time round because ive not had a single chick pip and die so far ( touch wood). I dont know why i had such crappy hatches with the silkies...i imagine the PO were none too gentle with them...out of 19 eggs i had a total of 9 develop but only 4 hatch. The 4 that hatched are totally awesome but still disappointing results. Oh well we live and learn huh? I seem to have things working better with the BLP anyways.
I kept 8 of the BLP eggs in the bator out of the 9 that survived the PO's treatment of them! ( 3 were cracked open in the box when they arrived from the PO). I was only able to see development in 6 of them but i couldnt throw the others away even though im pretty sure they are "empty!" The one that had the bacterial ring in it i threw away because i thought it may explode during incubation!

we will see...5 eggs to go including number 4 who has cracked as mentioned above!

yeeeeehaaaa....too much fun...number 4 BLP is out and doing great...all these chicks look totally perfect...no curled toes, no problems at all. I have realised that their little feet straighten out as soon as they stand!

What do you have your temp and humidity at this time?

I'm on day 20 and so far nothing but I candled a few and I see life.

i have the temp at 99.4-101.3 ( seems to vary with the higher humidity more than it did with the lower humidity).
Humidity now is at 70%..was at 45% for the first 15 days with these guys.

number 5 has not done much of anything since he/she pipped 2 hrs ago...ill keep an eye on it and help if need be.
