Here's my first girls

I got my first batch of chicks on Saturday. Very exciting, my 5 yr old daughter had a blast naming them. Loving the little chicks, though being new to this I find myself getting concerned when they sleep, which seems like odd positions to me. But they seem to be comfortable sleeping head first. I guess that's normal, but still getting used to it myself.

I have 5 RIRs, 5 NHRs and 2 PRs.

Yeah, those chicks seem to drop and nap in any position. Fall on their head.....lay on their side with leg stretched out......fall asleep with their head in the feeder.....or do the neck stretch as if dying. Enjoy them!

Get into the habit of tapping the side of the brooder before panicking when you see them all lying about "dead" - it still gives me a moment of heart stoppage.
