I hope this is the right place to post pics. I wasn't able to read all the posts. We have 4 breeder areas of poultry which came originally from Porter's heritage turkey.... We will be selling eggs and poults in 2012 when it's seasonal again.

White Holland (this flock is for sale due to some health problems we are downsizing...I shall miss them as they are sooooooooooooo sweet)

Black Tipped Bronze turkey (this was taken before he was fully grown but love this pic!:

To sell anything, BYC wants them posted in the BSA section. However, we love photos of heritage turkeys!

ETA: If you just happen to emntion they are listed on the BSA section....well I think "big brother" may not mind.

Techincally only the White Hollands and Bourbon Reds are in the SOP and thus "heritage", but the others are pretty. Any can be shown if entered as AOV (All Other Variety).

I am trying to design a 'holder' of sorts to keep him standing still...we'll see what we come up with.

Wrap a towel around him, and move it as you want to wash an area, you might want to wear shorts/bathing suit etc.

how many lbs do Bourbon Reds get? and how many lbs of feed will they eat from hatch to 28 week?

My Bourbon Reds got to be about 30 lbs or so, never weighted them, but, boy they were heavy. I was told that a full grown tom will eat a pound a day, and a hen half a pound a day. Hope that helped.
