hes a she?

I would put her with some Browns first and see how the offspring turn out. You may want to breed back to golds here and there

Afraid not, i was given the eggs. i think there was a white hen and a brown roo... lord knows what was under the white i guess. I'm trying to get a hold of the lady i got the egg from to see if there are any more. Till then i guess it will be a brown

after further consideration, I think it is a wheaten

very rare indeed, only the blue wheaten is more scarce (I am kidding).

now seriously, we are going to have to clone her. imho- maybe you could breed her with a white roo also, to see what happens?

this sounds like a very interesting project...

success!! I think? I hatched 2 batches of eggs from her before i shut my incubator down for the year. they were 5 days apart and my friend is starting the second batch for me. But... in my batch it looks like i have 2 that are on track to look like her! chick down wise one favored the browns the other the goldens, but they are feathering out just like she did (here's the earlier thread on her-at the time thought to be a him! https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=529015&p=1 )

In a week I'll go see how her batch is looking and take out any others that look like it might grow up as a match. It seams like this was too simple....
