I think human visitors, non-logged in members, and bots can all be viewed as "guests."

I do too to some extent but I don't think the majority of guests are not lurkers.

Most people can find the answer to their question in a simple search without having to ask anything

Before I joined I had been using BYC for months before I had a question I couldn’t find an answer to anywhere and had to join and ask

Just like azurbanclucker once said (I probably misspelled the name), the issue is seasonal. Spring is coming, and so will the new chicken owners. Even if something has been answered, it wasn't a direct response to you, and to the new chicken owner, that is not enough reassurance. Having said this, chicken keeping is a niche "hobby", if you can even call it that
