Don't feel like that! I just wanted to show that only 6% of people on the forum now are actually members!

I suppose 94% of the BYC visitors find all the answers they need, because all the members provided enough answers, articles, ideas and reviews.
So if you're not into chatting and socialising with chicken/poultry addicts, why should one become a member to expose him/herself?
Or are/were you the one person who just can’t find the answer? Because you have a rare question or cant find the needle in the haystack?

I became a member for 2 reasons. I like the friendly people here on BYC and I had a question. I returned and stayed as an active member because I still like the people, I am fascinated how different it is to live and keep chickens in other parts of the world. I like to contribute having some experience and knowledge about keeping a small flock bantams in Europe. And to learn and write English, (my native language is Dutch).

No jackpot. Probably many visitors are sleeping now in the US/Canada.

I may have the worst reason ever for lurking. I was reluctant to write my introduction. I have no idea why that was so intimidating, unless I was just afraid to look inept or stupid.

As a former newspaper reporter and managing editor, I have looked both inept and stupid in print countless times .

As a BYC member, I just try to apologize in advance when I think I may be saying something goofy. But now, I can't imagine NOT being a member!

I'm sure as with other lurkers, I would come to the forum through a search engine when typing in questions. I did tend to read more posts once I got here. I'm not knowledgeable enough to be any help on any topic so didn't join.

I decided to join because I couldn't give a "love" to posts with beautiful roosters, hens and adorable chicks nor could I show sympathy to those who have sick or injured birds. My heart does go out to them.
