Thought I would update....my flock is getting better/looking better. They still act like they feel okay. The number of bumps on the worst ones has diminished a good deal. I spoke with a poultry specialist and he told me to go ahead and vaccinate that it would not kill my chickens. So now I've got to get the stuff to do this. He told me that it can be transmitted by mosquitoes and flies and he thinks gnats (southern thing)....and we have plentiful supplies of all of those.
I received in the mail yesterday my first eggs ever to attempt to hatch. I have 5 cream legbar and 4 isbar....wish me luck, as I totally do NOT now what I am doing. I read on BYC last night til my eyes crossed and took the brochure on the incubator to bed with me...maybe I absorbed some info thru sleep osmosis! LOL! But, I am excited about trying this.
