BYB, Ams and cknmom thank you so much for your kindness.

I am so proud of him for not being afraid to get out there and be in the spot light, even if he has to limp to it. He just says "well I would be playing if I could so I have to do something." I am so grateful to the wonderful students, teachers, coaches, friends and the community.
Everyone is so understanding. There was a new student last year that decided to call him the R word and tease him. Well in no time he had 3 boys corner him on the play ground and inform him otherwise

! On the school bus there was a boy teasing him. As soon as the bus driver found out (from another rider) he told the child he could not ride the bus for 2 weeks and it better not happen again. There is has been no tolerance for teasing.

The high light of his day yesterday was when the players walked by him to the locker room the all said hi or high fived him! He was just giddy when he was telling me this.

Dinner tonight is chicken salad. DH won't be home until after 9, so I will probably eat without him.

I hope you all had a wonderful Friday.

Awwww! That's awesome, thechickenchick! He's so very lucky, isn't he?

Nice to see you still posting, cknmom! I think about you often.

Last night's dinner was a hit. My next door neighbor was overrun with zukes, so he gave me several of them. I took some smoked turkey sausage and cut it into chunks, diced some organic onion from the church garden along with some garlic and browned them in a bit of OO, tossed in the zukes, added some organic tomatoes grown by some friends, a bit of basil from my own garden and served it over penne pasta, tho I would have preferred butterfly which I *thought* I had in the pantry. It was really good! It was scarfed down with the whole family having seconds and thirds. I also made some fresh homemade French bread to go along with it. Yum!

Tonight hubby and I went out for happy hour.

Tonite we have a star party so we will take the grill and kielbasa, pork and beans and chips, cookies for dessert.

Last night we had rotele with chicken sweet italian sausage and roasted red bell pepper sauce; both were from Mom's fridge, dad won't eat them since she's gone.

DH says that we can get a free dial-up service until his work picks up, so I won't have much time on-line, but will be able to post now and then.

I'm glad to hear it. Photos loading tends to be a problem with dial-up, but since we don't usually post photos on this thread, it shouldn't be much of a problem. Glad you'll still be with us from time to time.

cknmom its great to here that you will be on a bit more. We missed you.

Tonight is home made vegetable soup with potatoes, peas, carrots, onions and basil from our garden. I have a loaf of sour dough bread in the oven. I also baked a sour cream chocolate cake for dessert.

I worked my tail off yesterday in the heat and today I seem to be lacking motivation.

I did have the flowers watered and the lawn mowed by 7:15 but since then I have only managed to prepare things for supper! Maybe I will take the rest of the day off!!
