Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

I'm firing up the grill again. Homemade Italian sausage on the grill with hash brown potatoes and for veggies it's asparagus, mushrooms, and onions, made in a glass pie plate topped with muenster cheese till golden.

Grilling sounds great!

DH will be home late so this is my plan.

I have potatoes and cabbage left over from the other night. I will cook up some Choriozo (spicy) sausage and add it to the warmed up left-overs.

bigzio.. would you mind sharing your Italian Sausage recipe? If you have any other type sausage recipes, I'd be very interested in those, too.

I made "my" version of 2 recipes from the Cozy Comfort Food (Sunset), I picked up the other day... "Roast chicken with Meyer lemon shallot sauce" and "Grandmother's chicken"

I have potato bread leftover from last night's smothered chicken, rice and green beans ..and I'll make some kind of vegetable for tonight's dinner.

I think I'm going to attempt the "Pear upside down cake" also ..but a smaller version, in case I get stuck eating it by myself.

I'm really enjoying this special edition ..it has quite a few recipes that I can convert (permissible meats for us), and they use some of the "cheaper" cuts, as well. There's even a "New Mexico Chicken Posole" recipe in there..

bigzio - yummm! I, too, am interested in your sausage recipe, if you care to share.

the chickenchick - that sounds like a great plan!

Aneesa - that roast chicken sounds great. Sunset puts out some good cookbooks, IMO.

We had the Chicken Tortilla soup Redfeathers was kind enough to share (even though I really wanted fries and gravy

). That soup is a keeper!

Aneesa, how did the featherbeds turn out? I wasnt too enthused with the overnight rise. I think if done sooner, the better they might come out, ours were flat. Guess the dough got too cold.

I'm glad you liked the soup, I think next time I will try it with fritos and make it a little bit more spicy. Fries and gravy won hands down though.

Tonight is fish and chips and some little shrimp spring rolls I bought pre made.

skand.. I cut the recipe in half ...and they turned out fine. They are almost all gone

I wanted to see if I could incorporate your recipe into my bread machine book's recipe, but the book said to use Instant ...and that just isn't going to happen! Some things are just not meant to be consumed from a box, in my opinion..
