Beets are my all time favorite veggie!! Hate them pickled, though.

I detest pickled beets also but love them lightly steamed .. I am having a horrible time
keeping zucchini from going bad ... really frustrating .. maybe peas as we have not had them in quite a while have tri tip steak think I will pan fry and pasta maybe just dill and butter on it maybe

You sound like my kind of dinner companion! Have you tried waxing the outside of the summer squash? Ma would do that when we brought them in from the garden.

What's going on with that ? Less than a week old and it spoils ? This is both yellow summer squash and zucchini. The only good squash we have gotten recently is from a large market down in S Jersey, but it's a 1.5 hour drive there.

Coming out of Mexico ? not certain here was wally produce was spoiled most of it never buy from them here

I may have to try buying some at the Amish market. There's a Korean couple who have a stand there. Their prices are on the high side, but if the stuff doesn't spoil, I guess it's worth the extra cost.

I go to a local market Fullers they had a big place here for years put it to smaller one..
Opened a grocery in town but get great produce yes bit more than wally but beautiful produce

'Special orders don't upset us' - Princess wanted noodles and cottage cheese so they took the place of the mac and cheese. Also squash had gone bad so I made beets. That's the second or third time that squash has spoiled far to rapidly.

I find that summer squash doesn't hold up long, whereas I've had winter squash, particularly butternut, sit on my kitchen counter for over a month.
