Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

BYB thank you for the idea. That sounds yummy. I may try that tomorrow. DS asked for meatloaf and homemade Mac and cheese so that's what we had. Tonight is Pork chops, hash browns, gravy and homemade bread.

What is everyone else doing?

It'll be B4D here, which is a good thing. DS has marching band practice again this afternoon. I'm not yet sure what it'll be yet, tho. Probably something simple.

Last week I mentioned that my DS was graduating the 8th grade. I plan on starting a thread with a few pics but I wanted to share 1 with my friends on this thread! This young man suffered a serious TBI 2 years ago. There was a time when we didn't know if he was going to make it, let alone walk across that stage. He walks with a profound limp and his left hand doesn't work as it should. But look at that smile! We feel so blessed. He has worked very hard to accomplish this and we are very proud!! ( I am so sorry about making you hold your head like that! Can anyone tell me how to fix that! I tried editing it but when I load it, it loads the original!)

Awwwww thechickenchick!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

What a handsome and very happy young man! He looks as proud of himself as we know you are of him. Congratulations to all of you!

As to how to fix that, I always rotate them in my computer before uploading them to photobucket. Because of that, I'm not sure if there's another way to fix it if you've already uploaded it.

What a great shot! He looks very handsome and happy! Whoo hoo! He did it!
The last few days SO has been in charge of dinner. We had hot dogs with my homemade relish one night, last night it was hamburgers with our own lettuce.
Tonight is "on your own" night. There are left overs, including left over pizza FIL dropped off, and plenty of sandwhich fixins. I have a sneaking suspicion that stepson won't be staying for dinner: too much work for him to get his own dinner or even make a sandwhich,.... and then we'd expect him to clean up after himself too...just too much to ask

I got a new batch of foster kittens, so I've mostly been fixing bottles for them

Backyard Buddies, I'm copying your recipe for the crock pot. It sure sounds good.

Coyote Magic, I hope all is well with you. Let us know how things went.

thechickenchick, you sure have lots to be proud of with your handsome son. I'm sure with that determination, he'll go far in life.

Yesterday, I worked in the garden pulling the old chicken wire fence. This old lady had a hard time.LOL So, our supper was chorizo on tortillas, peppers, salad and salsa and chips.

Today, I'm trying a new recipe. It's a rolled lasagna noodle dish. The filling is spinach, cream cheese and mozzarella cheese. I'm always looking for ways to use up some of this fresh cheese. I need to make yogurt, too. And, if we don't feel we got our fill of cheese today, I'm making cheesecake bars. Good thing we work hard and work off those calories.

I honestly don't know what to fix today . We had bbq chicken fresh green beans mashed pot.,cornbread yesterday. Today is our anniversery 21 years. He loves chicken Liver fried so I might fix that . I hate it. But sometimes we have to give a little to let them know they are loved. but to me it seems like I am always the one giving a little and getting nothing in return.(lol) but I really don't mind. I love to cook for my family and dh does not like going to restaurants. He wants me to cook just about the only food he will eat. He said he knows how I cook it and what I put in it so he doesnt worry. well gotta go thaw some liver out now. Oh what should I fix with it?

chickabator, in this household I'm the one who loves liver, SO can't stand it.
Here is how I like it: sauteed in the same pan with lots of onions and slices of apple. Slice the apple to be about 1/4" or less in thickness, so it cooks through. Served with the liver, it makes the liver less dry. The apples have a nice sweet and sour taste, especially if you use granny smith. Sometimes I peel the apples sometimes I don't . Depends on my mood. I grew up with this meal in Germany. My friends had it the same way. Serve it with mashed potatoes and maybe vanilla pudding with some kind of sugared fruit (strawberries?) on top. A meal fit for royalty!!
Happy Anniversay!

well I ended up deep frying it fixed some mashed taters and mac&cheese. then for desert I made a homemade chocolate cake
