bigzio, nothin' wrong with doctored up pizza. Yours sounds wondrfull. We do it all the time.
I was right. Stepson did not stay for dinner last night!
I guess he found someplace where dinner was easier than him taking a slice of pizza out of a cardboard box, putting it on a plate and nuking it
I was making jam this afternoon, so I pulled out the crockpot. It can simmer on the dining room table, while I cook in the kitchen.
I'm trying to make room in the freezer for this years crops.
So I went scrounging. I found some skinless slightly freezerburned chicken breasts, a container of summer squash and wild turkey broth. I put them all in the crockpot and added: a bunch of chopped fresh parley, chopped celery, a lot of garlic (it too needs to be used up, since this years crop is nearly ready), chopped carrots and sauteed onions and a bit of fresh thyme. Put the crockpot on high and let it go all afternoon. Everything smells wonderfull. I took the cooked chicken out and chopped it up a bit. I'll season it in a little while. Don't know if I'll thicken it or leave it as is. I figure I'll serve it with pasta wether it'll be stew or a thick soup. I thought peas might be nice in it and remembered that I still had some snow peas left and tossed them in too. We have some french bread from a couple of nights ago that I'll heat up to go with it.
Desert in our house is seldom planned, unless it is the main course. Or part of balancing the meal. I.e. If there are minimal vegetables in the main course, I'll make sure there is fruit for desert.
