Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Did you all retire from the kitchen? Or did you all make something so tremendous that you've been doin' the dishes ever since?

Tonight was wild salmon roasted with garlic and herbs, quinoa, and baby peas.
 
Haven't felt much like cooking, besides we have plenty of left overs. So SO and or I have just made a little something extra like cook up some beans or fix a salad to add to the leftovers. Might as well clear out some refrigerator space

We do that as well. If I can get away with it, I'll only cook a few nights a week, then make the leftovers do for the other meals. I'm all for using up what's in the fridge. Do you reinvent the leftovers into something else, or generally just do a repeat? We do a bit of both, depending on the leftovers. If I can make it into something else, I will. Otherwise, I just vary the sides so that it feels like a different meal.

I'm not quite sure what dinner will be tonight. Half of the family went to Disneyland today. We may meet up there for dinner at Downtown Disney, which is always fun and festive.
 
Sometimes I re-invent dinner dinner, sometimes just add something new to it. Most meats can easily be cut up somehow and added to a jar of homemade stewed tomatoes or tomato sauce.
This week we had both leftover pesto pasta and potato salad, so SO bbq'd some chicken to go with it one night and made hot dogs on another night. SO can't cook for just two people

So we invariably have left overs. Sometimes we give them to someone who appreciates not having to cook, like my daughter or a former elderly neighbor who gets tired of cooking for his lone self. Nothing like having a meal already prepared when you come home tired from work.
I like making soups and stews, left overs work themselves into those real easy.
At the moment I'm busy canning though, as well as drying some of our harvest. So I only cook once or twice a week.

The other half of the family got tired of the heat and headed home from Disney. Thus, we're going out to dinner for Fish Tacos at Wahoos. Yummy stuff!
 
SO is being a jerk so I am eating cold canned chilli in my room. out of the can with a plastic spoon. Very satiisfying.... And I hope I f@%&t the heck out of the place tonight...
