Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Going to make Kale stew for New Years day. Will give me my greens and peas for good luck and will do pulled pork sandwiches on the side. Should be good for all and a good start to the new year.

Spareribs and saurkraut, rolls, mashed potatoes, a green veg, and leftover desserts from our Christmas party last week.
Yum, yum, yum, one of my favorite meals all year.

Brings good luck for the year, too.

We went out for an Italian New Year's Eve Cenoni (big meal) last night.
Antipasto: Cotechino and lentils - a NYE tradition in Italy
Primo: Spaghetti with saffron and lobster tail
Secondo: I had swordfish involtini (rollups) and DH had a small filet mignon
Dessert: some chestnut puree pastry thing

It was awesome.

I am making meat loaf and homemade scalloped potatoes for dinner today.

I am baking a duck, will heat up a mesquite chicken I picked up a grocery yesterday ( it's for hubby just in case he doesn't like the duck), also a little ham left from Christmas, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, dresssing & cresent rolls. For dessert I made a chocolate cream pie..
My two son's and their girl friends are coming for supper and we are having our Christmas tonight. Opps also made them a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies.. the four of them each get a zip lock bag with their names on them. LOL had to start putting each persons in a bag couple years ago cause one of my two son's ate the others cookies.. so now they are marked.. That way I'm sure everyone gets a bag..

These two argue over the cookies sometimes.

A southern New Years Dinner today...Collard greens, Black-eye pea, Ham, Cornbread and Sweet Tea!

Lunch today was awesome.
stuffed scallops, lobster tail, french-cut green beans, and white wine. Total cost for 2 people $21.00!

I love eating "fancy" meals at home for less than half the cost of one entree at a "fancy" restaurant.

The best part was that it wasn't work-intensive. The scallops were bought pre-stuffed. And the green beans were canned (my DH prefers them this way!) The lobster tails - I baked in the oven.

Big pot of homeade chicken soup, woke up with a sore throat and sinus congestion.

forgot to add the garlic bread too.
