MissPrissy asked:
Do you ever partake of that fine cornbread with an icey cold glass of the finest cultured buttermilk?

Naw, Naw, can't get past the smell and taste. Two beverages that I could never aquire a taste for: 1) buttermilk, 2) alcoholic beverages. I can do a little wine if it's sweet enough.

I'm a milkaholic. DW and I panic if we have just 1 gal. of milk in the fridge. Gotta get more milk immediately. I drink at least a pint of milk or more with anything and everything I eat, snack or meal. And get this, I was deathly alergic to milk of any kind from birth until 12 years old. Outgrew the allergy and have never got caught up on my milk since then. For me it's milk first, water, then heaven forbid, cola.

Summary: I am stiff competition for a suckling calf. I'm gonna get the front teet!

I propose that we should change your name to "Miss Maytag" as in agitator.

No matter though, can't help but love ya'.

Now that it's almost dinner time I finally decided what I'm making. Couldn't make up my mind and now it's too late to defrost anything. So we are having sausage, egg and cheese breakfast burritos with a small batch of home made salsa and hash browns. Thank you my lovely chickens for giving me the eggs to do it. Everyone have a nice evening.

I don't blame you. I hope you feel better tomorrow. Eat some toast before you go to bed or something easy on your tummy. I'm glad you are safe.

After today's chain of events I completely forgot about supper. I couldn't eat now even if I wanted to.

I saw this thread the other day, and just never got around to posting...now it's 19 pages long!

I tried a new recipe off allrecipes.com. Meatballs and sauce-serve over choice of pasta. I just made regular spaghetti, and the meatballs/sauce simmered in the crockpot all day. We just had a simple dessert (we don't do dessert on a regular basis) of grapes, and I splurged and bought a small container of strawberries. They are always so much more costly out of season, but these berries tasted like homegrown-I was impressed.

OH MY GAWD!! I'm so sorry, I didn't listen to any news yesterday, so sorry Yogi!!! I hope it missed you and yours, Louisianians must just cringe at bad weather, so sorry. We have had tornetial rains all night long, so soggy, my chicken run will not be smellin good today, that's for sure. Sorry again Yogi and hope all is well.

Priss --is is even possible to have a leftover at your house? If I were eating at your house (still beggin for that invite, lol!) you can bet there wouldn't be anything left!!!!

There are alot of good bread recipes on this thread that I have copied down, I'll look for mine this weekend and post it, even if you don't like sweet potatoes, which I dont, you will like it in the bread and the color is so nice. Later ya'll

Yogiman,
I hope things have calmed down a bit for you. I finally have a dinner that is worth reporting:

Mesquite grilled T-bone steaks
Pan fried sliced potatoes (fried in olive oil and seasoned with salt and garlic)
Steamed broccoli crowns and
Whole wheat bread

Better get back at it...we are having a late dinner since DH just got home.
