Hey Grandpa, What's For Supper?

I intend to press a little flour to my face, drip sauce onto my apron, pull a few strands of hair loose from my ponytail...and plop a few 'pizza's' on table from our local pizza shop!

Chicky Joy, What a great trade for both of you! I love fresh potatoes but didn't grow them this year....sigh. Last year our black lab pup watched me dig up some potatoes and the next day decided he would "help"me and dig up all the rest and toss them around the yard.

I decided to skip them this year.

Kebobs tonight made with chicken, red bell peppers and pineapple, rice pilaf, and a veg mix of snow peas, carrots, broccoli and water chestnuts.

I think tomorrow is stuffed peppers.

I've been trying to cook things that freeze easily so DD can stock her freezer at college with something other than Lean Cuisines for quick meals or those days she doesn't have time to cook.

Made a pot of Chicken Soup with a cream base. Has green beans, corn and carots for veggies in it. Baking some brownies. I need to make some spagetti this week cause ever since someone mentioned that leftover spagetti I have had a craving. May do it tomorrow evening.

Well, since DW is down with pheumonia this week, I'm hanging closer to the back door than normal. So today I was in one of my cooking moods and off I went. First thing this morning I cooked a pot of pinto beans seasoned with a Vidalia onion and bonless smoked ham hocks. I also cooked a pot of great northern beans seasoned the same way. With that going, I proceeded to cook lunch or dinner as we call it down here. Soooooo, I made:

Fried chicken - and I do mean home made.
Creamed Potatoes
Gravy
Mustard Greens
Cathead Biscuits
Sweet tea
and choice of beans.

Now talk about some comfort food!

Redfeathers asks:
Yogi, if I ever get sick will you come hang around my back door and cook for me too?

Heck yeah, and I'll even bring a new box of Slap Ya Mama to expedite your illness. Can't beat a deal like that, now can ya'?

I worked in the yard with Ben (my Faverolle roo) most of the day, so DH was left to his own nuking abilities ...leftover S'ghetti!

Once I got us inside and I cooled off ...a cheese quesadilla, a pear off a friend's tree (with permission) and some ice cold water ...called it "good"

Yay!! I'm almost out already. I did order some online but I would much rather get it from my original source.

It's nice and cool and breezy here today Yogi, just like you like it.

No, I didn't. Isn't it sad? I need to restock the freezer. I think I like chorizo best with scrambled eggs. Yum. But, those were some mighty tasty tacos, anyway. Hmmm. I think I might have one of the leftovers for lunch. Dinner tonight is going to be breakfast for dinner, our usual Wednesday staple.

Chickenchick - Potato soup sounds yummy as well. In fact, soup is one of my favorites with homemade bread. Just didn't occur to me that soup would be on the menu at this time of the year. Here in So. Cal, we're just starting to heat up. September/October is when we get warm. Otherwise, it's only in the 70s here. I think I'd rather be heading into cooling down than warming up!

The first time I ever had Chorizo, it was with eggs ..you're right... yummy! Now, I'm torn between tacos and eggs ...breakfast burrito?

I have some fresh ground chicken (shhh!!) in the fridge ...will be chopping up the fresh herbs and stuff in a sec ..for Kebabs! Then I'll do rice, green salad and an eggplant dish (tomatoes, dill, cream, few peas ..I can't recall the name ..good stuff, though) with fresh naan, later ...and that will be dinner.

It was really warm here, yesterday ...all the babies had their popsicle bottles (frozen water bottles) and lounging and sprawled out in very odd positions ...poor things! Gotta love CA weather, hunh?

Yesterday we had Asian lettuce wraps with chicken and peanut sauce and veggies with fried rice. For dessert my sons girlfriend made a wonderful banana and chocolate bread pudding with vanilla ice cream.

Tonight Johnsonville brats on the grill, corn on the cob from my garden and sliced tomato
