Hey Grandpa, What's For Supper?

I think tonight we are having corned beef hash, eggs and home made biscuits. Wish I had some homemade strawberry jam to go on them...

I have a dog show tomorrow and a fund raiser event on Sunday in downtown Portland, it's the Shamrock run and our Irish setter club all go down with our dogs and walk 3.5 miles or mingle with the crowd, we collect funds for a local childrens hospital and have a wonderful time. Last year we were on the local news. Anyway, after that we are coming home to a wonderful Irish Meal that my friend is going to whip up in my kitchen. I can't wait. She mentioned Corned beef and Colcannon, cooked carrots and cake. I love it when someone cooks for me, it doesn't happen very often so I'm really looking forward to it.

Sounds yummy Redfeathers! And, it sounds like a fun and productive weekend you have planned!

I think we'll be eating out tonight. Where isn't yet settled, but I'm NOT going to cook!

How cool would that be BYB? Wow!!

I would think so, too! My grandma was the ultimate career woman, rare for the time in which she lived. She didn't have my mom until she was 39 (I don't think she intended on having kids) and was already retired by the time I was born. Unfortunately, because of that, I never had the opportunity to taste any of her good cooking. She was such the professional that she almost never talked about her clients - certainly not until her latter years, long after she was retired and after most of her clients had passed on. She really enjoyed working at Pickfair and said that Fairbanks and Pickford were really nice. Although she was never employed by her, Marilyn Monroe was a guest at parties she catered. She didn't see anything special about her. One of the Mrs. Ronald Reagans was someone she refused to work for after she called and ordered my grandmother to cancel a scheduled party to work for her instead. She didn't show partiality to people - being as kind to those on the lower end of the social scale as she was to her clientele. She truly was a great lady!

But, alas, no party food for me! If only I could be a culinary fly on the wall!

Tonight is Meatloaf with brown gravy, and my all in one pot, green beans, red potatos, onions and mushrooms with some slap yo momma and butter.
Not sure about the bread yet have not decide if its going to be cornbread or cheese garlic bisquits or maybe just freezer rolls.

Between the new chicks, having to do chores last minute, and running into town to get two birthday presents for two different parties, and running one child into previous mentioned party, I threw something together last second,

We had:

Swedish meatballs
Baked potato
Cottage Cheese
Brussel Sprouts (okay, *I* had them)
quick desert, of canned peaches, lol!

Since St. Patrick's Day is on Monday, we will be celebrating it tonight:

Corned Beef, Cabbage with carrots and potatoes - oh oh, is there an "e" on the end of potato? (plural)

Homemade Irish soda bread with raisans, if you don't like the raisans, you pick em out.

And the bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream. (Dessert)

Last time we had the choice of a sirloin steak with a mushroom sauce, or a chicken breast...some kind of sauce, and red snapper. I'm curious to see if they serve the same choices all the time or not...only went once before and that was back in December or January....
