No kidding. Now, what is that brown sauce they pour all over the rubber chicken, anyway? It's not anything familiar, or anything that I've ever made with chicken. Actually, the steamed veggies (if they're carrots and broccoli) aren't all that bad. In my former life, I was a video producer/director and we seemed to end up at all these trainings and workshops (you must have been there, which is why we've had the same rubber chicken). Anyway, I worked with a bunch of guys who never ate their veggies - so, I'd offer to trade the mystery chicken for veggies. I think I got the better end of the deal.

Banter - I've got to try the sweet potato baked fries! Sounds yummy and healthy! Do you have any special tricks?

I'm not feeling real inspired to go as it is...lol. This isn't helping much. I think I'll go early for cocktails. That way dinner won't be so bad no matter how rubbery the chicken is. The restaurant is called THE GARLIC ONION. I've never eaten there but I'm not overly optimistic.
I think the worst part of it is that I have to get cleaned up and do my hair and make up again darn it!

Mmmmm BTL's sounds so good, but we do not have fresh tomatoes from the garden yet :|

Guess we will have to goto the store and buy the expensive hot house tomatoes.

Sorry. LOL. OK, I looked up the place. One fairly decent review on the Internet. They said the steak was a little chewy and that they didn't like the potatoes, but said that they heard the lemon salmon was good. Hope that helps - and nothing I mentioned there was rubber chicken! Do enjoy the cocktails first. It just may help! By the way, we stay in Wilsonville all the time when we roll through on our way to Washington.

Thanks for the review.

I'll check out the lemon salmon... I hardly ever order steak in a restaurant anymore, they are usually tiny bits of meat that cost a fortune. I'll report back later on what I picked.

Everything here sounds better than what I ended up with. Even rubber chicken with mystery brown sauce.
I ended up with one of those cafe steamers, beef merlot. The green beans and potatos were ok, carrots had the texture and taste of those plastic carrots that come with the easy bake oven toys.
Oh well, I won't waste my money on another one of those.

I almost got the lemon salmon. I had a good laugh over the chicken breast with rice pilaf (I'm serious, that really was on the menu) but chose to order Fish and chips with a salad and Black Butte Porter. My husband got the prime rib and said it was bad and too chewy and thin. The dinner rolls were good.

I'm behind, very busy. Tues. we had hamburgers just on our plate and cornbread both with chili and cheese on them.Yum,Yum!
Last night leftover tri-tip, with garlic mashed pot. with onion gravy over both and peas/gr. beans.
Tonight is easy, fishsticks and somekind of homemade fries.

Sounds like you made the wiser choice!

Hmmmm. You'll drink porter but not black coffee? I think we need to have a talk.

Isn't porter simply the black coffee of the beer world? In fact, I'm certain that back in my brewing days we even made a coffee porter, or was it a coffee stout. Either way, it was yummy.

I'm about 1 hour away from a road trip, so my dinner will no doubt be something fast somewhere in the middle of the central valley.
