I've never had mustard greens in my life. What do they taste like? Or should I assume they are mustardy?
Well, there in lies the problem.
Your life will never be complete without having eaten some mustard greens.
You just gotta do something about that real soon before it's to late.
Wow! What do they taste like? I am at a loss to describle the taste except to say that they are some kind of gooooood. Airmom described them as being much like turnip greens but milder. That would be a good description. But then if you've never had turnip greens either them that doesn't help much, does it.
I raise them every fall, then pick them while they are young and tender. I process them, cook them, and then bag them for the freezer. And I mean lots of them. I put well over 100 quart bags of them in the freezer in the winter. I spend every weekend picking and processing them.
We obviously like them very much. They are a staple part of our diet. I never grow tired of them. My cardiologist likes for me to eat them. He says I have the chlestrol level of a teenager. I raise and we eat all types of greens, i.e. mustard, turnip, collards, kale, rape and cabbage. This is in addition to all of the typical garden vegetables I raise. Some mighty fine eaten!
