Definitely! 'specially if it's sweet butter.

It's breakfast for dinner here as well - a regular event on Wednesdays. Tho, I don't know that I'll go all fancy like you, Parsons. I need to help my son make some salsa for a demonstrative speech he's giving this week.

Ain't nothing better than that good old cow salve butter shook up in a fruit jar and slathered over one of them big old cat head biscuits.

Just took that big old pork picnic shoulder roast out of the oven that's been in there all morning. Gotta let it rest till supper so all them seasonings can soak through it. Gotta figure out what I'm gonna side dress it with.

How do you make butter in a mason jar?????????????? Or whatever you are talking about??????????

I'm originally from Chicago - next to Wisconsin, you know (Cheese head = Green Bay Packers). So we ONLY have butter in our household!

To make butter in a mason jar....pour in cream, put on lid, shake vigorously until butter forms. We used to hand off the jar to each other so no one's arm got too tired. Salt, if you like, mold and put in fridge....or dip hot, fresh fried breadsticks in it and enjoy, cuz it won't last long!

BAD fast food people! Taco Bell is my one weakness for fast food. Tater Tots are my frozen food weakness, but only once a month! I prefer venison tacos with homemade salsa.
The black eyed peas were great tonight. DH said if I added meat that it would be a meal!
And......got mad that I fed a little to the chickens.....they loved it!

I cut into that fresh pork picnic shoulder roast tonight and OMG. DW said it had the look and texture of prime rib. Now go figure.
We side dressed it with some speckled butter beans from the garden from last summer along with some rape greens and a pone of cornbread.
Folks, it just don't get no better than that!

I bought a large turkey breast, I just need to figure out how I want to season and cook it. I think we will have rice and a tossed salad with it.

Everyones recipes and dinner ideas all look so delicious, thank you for continuing to share them, I really enjoy this thread.

I used to eat Pirogies when I lived on the east coast. Now I only see them in little boxes in the freezer section of the grocery store. My favorite were the mashed potato and cheddar ones. mmmm

Put this in the slow cooker before I left for work this morning...

"Hamhocks & Beans" ...except I used smoked ham shanks. More meat on 'em.... simmered w/ great northern beans. And cornbread....mmmm.....something green on the side, prob broccoli?

Morel mushrooms are for dinner tonight.

We will do the best mushrooms and saute them in butter and fresh spring onions, then lay them over some home grown steaks.
The rest of the morel mushroom haul will be eaten over a few days, most likely breaded and fried

Anybody else hunt for the elusive morel mushroom?
