Hey Guys...

I'm so excited for you.

No pips yet on my eggs due tomorrow. Perhaps by the time I get home tonight.

I did take a few quick pics this morning & will get them online in a little while.

Keep me in the loop on your hatches.

Wow!!! so nice.. and they all look the same. I think you're making some real progress!

can't wait to see what they look like at 4 months.

Sad day here in Erinland. I checked on the babies before I went to take a nap (which I never take.. was just so tired) and woke up to no more pips from my mille babies since the first this morning. I know that isn't a big deal but I just felt something was off. My rosecomb eggs are hatching. I took the three that aren't pipping (one was pipped and was chirping loudly) and candled... didn't see any movement so I opened them up

I have two stages of dead babies. One is ready to get up and start pecking.. it is so ready. The other two were facing the wrong way!! The air cells were so big but when I candled, I couldn't see them... that's because the whole mass moved into the bottom and I assume they were going to try to hatch out of the top and didn't have enough time. The yolks were fully absorbed ...they were just really mucousy. I am so bummed. They all look very heatlhy and all are that light buff color!!

I knew I was going to need to help just by looking at those funky cells... I just thought it would be better to wait. I'll know better next time.

Lynne, I know you're going to feel bad for me and that's fine but just know you packed them wonderfully and they had every opportunity. It's just so hard trying to make that voyage across the entire United States and I was extremely fortunate the previous time. I do plant to buy more and try again

hahahahahahaha... you know I cried during but was ok right afterwards. Im beginning to understand these are the chances we take when dealing with artificial incubation and I feel very lucky to have the gorgeous babies I do have. I have one left in there that did pip by utself. I made sure the hole is clear and it SHE hahaahha has fresh air. Lynne, thank you so much for giving me a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, I will. All the rest of the hatch was successful except for another rosecomb that couldn't find his way.. I peeled back the shell and his beak was really close to the wrong end too!! (I like to refer to the ones that pass as "he's")

But, I think that out of a dozen or so I had in there.. that I did ok... could've been a lot worse. My little mille is spunky as can be. I tell ya those are some vigorous chicks. She's so sweet too. She was peeping loudly so I cupped my hand over her and she instantly went to sleep

She has some buddies in there now so everyone is happy and out of the shell.
