So beautiful. When they get too dark they look spangled and not mille fleur. I like both colors but like the rich coloring of the mille. Not too dark or too light.

Yeah!!! Welcome Lynne...many of us have been looking for you...and didn't even know who you were!!

OK, everyone. I'm now set with SQ blacks, SQ (probably) mottled (thanks bantyman), SQ whites and SQ columbians (in Jan, thanks Tom Roebuck!) Also barreds but not SQ...yet!

BUT...I have NO millies

So if anyone has eggs, I'm all ears!!

You know you don't need ALL the eggs that your millie's are producing. Just pop them in the refrigerator and collect them for about 10 days and then give me a shout. I've had great luck hatching refrigerated eggs and don't mind them at all. Mike...I'm wanting your hens to start laying again!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to thank everyone for the warm welcome. I am still learning how to use this forum & hopefully I have learned how to post a pic. I guess I will know for sure after I push the "send" button!

You obviously know my pet project is Mille Fleur Bantam Cochins, but I also wanted to share another project. I'm working on Lemon Blue Standard Cochins. Here is a pic of my roo" Lemon Boy" who I hatched this Spring. Two weeks ago I hatched my first F2 from him. If this pic works out

I will post a pic of the new baby. Is anyone else working on this color. Would love to hear from you.

I had some lemon-blue standard cochin eggs that I bought from a breeder in Oregon. He is on BYC on occasion. His BYC name is Estancia-Arizona. They have been working on the lemon-blue for a while. I sold all my babies because we decided to go with bantam cochins.
