Thats a good start debi. Its good to have a plan too. You can always get bigger over time. (more birds, more breeds, etc) Better to do that than to get to big to quick, then it becomes time, and money consuming and isnt much fun then.

How much do you sell your chicks for? Straight run? If not, how do you sex them?

I sell straight run for $1.50 each. Im trying to learn how to sex them but I cant do it yet.

They have chicks here at almost every store, wonder why the difference.

you can't buy them here and you can't sell them either.
and I did order some chicks from ideal got the first shipment in feburary they all died got the second shipment(replacement birds ) March 6th. then today got replacements for 10 of them. the also sent 12 ameraucana packing peanuts. go figure. but my chicks I got were all replacement chicks from the first order.

We got ours from Atwoods, they get all of their chicks from ideal too. We have lost 2, 1 from each batch. The first batch are now 9 weeks old, and the second batch is 1 week tomorrow.
