Hi from a new member in California:jumpy

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I've had chickens off and on throughout my life, but each time I have them I learn something new and feel like a beginner again.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
28 and chicken math is an issue. For example, I went to buy 4 marans chicks but ayam cemanis were available so I got 4 of those too. One of the marans died after I got it home and the breeder offered me a refund or two replacements. So... instead of 4 chicks I ended up with 9. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(3) What breeds do you have?
Ayam Cemani
French Blue & Black Copper Marans
Golden Laced Polish
Silver Laced Wyandottes
Partridge Rock
Barred Rock
Easter Eggers
Ameraucanas
Rhode Island Reds
Guineas - pearl and brown

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Researching on-line about chickens

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, reading, cattle

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My ideal flock includes hens that are good foragers, lay consistently through cold weather and continue producing beyond just a couple of years. If anyone can suggest breeds fitting this description I'd love to hear about them.

Thanks for having me!
