I have 4 chooks 2 Isa Brown 1 leghorn and 1 rhode island red. I live on 5 acres, with plenty of bush about. The girls dig all day but only after I have eggs. The white and red have not started laying yet, although the white did do a test run. We have plenty of challenges with foxes and eagles. I have lost 2 birds to the sky's and the fox has caused considerable damage to a couple of my previous girls, and twice to a recent girl, the dogs have saved them but the fox persists. These are daytime raids and are getting persistent. Couple of the girls have had ticks but they seem resistant to them, just remove and they are fine. Any how, g'day, and keep it up.

Hi @scurby :frow I've got three chooks in my backyard in Adelaide. I lost my first three in a fox raid, so now my chooks are locked up safe every night and whenever I can't be at home to keep an eye on things.

There are lots of other Aussies here too. I'm tagging @Ribh and @Aussie-Chookmum so they can say g'day.

Hi Mary, yeah the foxes do a lot of damage, mine get attacked through the day not the night, bastards are hard to beat. Bloody wedgies are just as bad.
