x2. If there's a big naked patch on her belly, it's self inflicted.some broody hens will pull their chest feathers to get better contact with the eggs.
There was some lost feathers on her back but that’s itLook to see where the feather loss is on her body. Look for injuries. I have read here on BYC that some broody hens will pull their chest feathers to get better contact with the eggs.
Yes there’s a bald patch under her bellyThere was some lost feathers on her back but that’s it
Completely normal for a broody!Yes there’s a bald patch under her belly
There could be a few things that could've happened. Like... Maybe some feathers were stuck to her when she went out for a break and the wind blew them. But I don’t get why the feathers were up the yard( not near her) so could that be her aswell ?x I’ve seen a rat and now trying to kill it - moved her into a stable and cage the other day away and more secure from the rat and she has now got three chicks which were born yesterday
Thanks everyone x
