I hadn't even considered calling the bank until I came across this thread, so i owe you a huge "Thank You!!".
Such gorgeous eggs, and beautifully packed!! Thank you for the recommendation!! I appreciate it so much, will be checking WRF out.
In a way, I am thankful for that icky experience with HH--- it has introduced me to a handful of neat folks and kind hatcheries all over the states. Happy to support these honest farms and families!

yeah, after talking to my bank, that’s the best way to do it. Basically, our bank communicated directly with the bank that accepted the payment, and since banks are all federally insured, it takes that con woman out of the equation completely.

Oh wow, I'm sorry you're going through this! I noticed the HH site and social media accounts had vanished and was wondering what happened; can't believe she just took your money like that!

My experience with HH was mixed. I bought some eggs from Kelsey last year. While it was hard to get ahold of her initially, we eventually connected and I picked up the eggs from her house. Really expensive, terrible fertility with the bantam cochins - 2 out of 10 developed; there was development in all ameraucana eggs, and I know of another person whose cochin eggs from her had similar problems. This really should not be an issue with such expensive eggs. Ultimately I ended up with 3 isabel ameraucanas and one silver-laced bantam cochin, all high-quality.

During the few weeks when I was trying to connect with her to get my eggs, I got the impression she was having a hard time juggling a new baby, post-birth issues, and the demand for her eggs. Maybe she was in over her head and decided to pull the plug? But that doesn't excuse or explain the money grab/disappearing act. I really hope you get your money back and are able to find good eggs from a reputable breeder!

For anyone wondering, Kelsey has actually reopened her Instagram account under a completely different name and purpose. The username is __playsaurus and it’s now a Montessori type of page. If anyone wants to give her a piece of their minds, do it. I did, as politely as I could stomach.

And yep. Within minutes, I’ve been blocked. She’s capitalizing off of the 30k followers she gained from her other endeavors. Get the word out!!!

Wow, you can do that? Just change your IG handle, delete your content, and keep all your followers? Been wondering how I accidentally followed that account. Looks like she goes by "Harper" on there now, which seems duplicitous to say they least. So sketchy. I reported her account.

Yep! It’s a definite flaw in the system, being able to change your username like that with no notification to your followers.

I was assuming “Harper” was the name of her child, but yes it would be so much more sketchy if that’s what she was going by! It would be a marked effort to mislead people

I’m glad I could help! She’s discovered my main account and blocked me there too but before that, I noticed that her follower number had started dropping a little, so hopefully word is getting out! I made a post on my Homestead IG account about this whole experience so I think people are seeing it there too

I'm like 78% sure her kid's name is Milo... I remember her posting about the birth last year and thinking "that's a nice name."
Hope IG cracks down on this nonsense! And glad to hear her followers are catching on and dropping her.

I guess it figures that she would be purposely trying to mislead people. She’s definitely shown that to be in her character
