My Jersey Giant has been hobbling on what appears to be a bad leg for over a week. After inspection I do not see an area of injury (cut, scratch or obvious break) but she is not walking correctly. A neighbor's dog got into the yard last week and caused them to race into the coop. The dog did NOT get close enough to harm the hens. For 4 days she was hobbled around the yard but now stays in the lower coop all day. At night she flies up unto the coop ledge with the other hen.
I have picked her up and inspected the leg area. She does not react unless I handle the bad leg. Could this be a sprain that will heal or a break. What to do?

It could be a sprain etc. For that you could keep her confined in a dog crate etc... to keep her off the leg and let it heal. Check for bumble foot, a black or dark scab on the bottom of the foot or toe.
