(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

My wife grew up on a farm in Mississippi so she isnt new to them, we got our first eight (8) 3 years ago, of which, 1 remains - rehomed in MS at said farm due to a mother Raccoon invasion

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We just got 6 pullets from Tractor Supply!

(3) What breeds do you have?

3 Olive Eggers & 3 Production Red's

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

Self-sufficiency is one of my goals, I can't garden worth a damn but my neighbor does and so we can trade eggs for his veggies.

I really enjoyed seeing their personalities develop and naming them, I'm excited to do so again this time, but probably shouldn't get as attached since our biggest difficulty has been predators.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Weight Training & Exercise at the gym, video games, and non-fictions books. Plus, not opposed to a few episode marathon of Great British Baking Show with the wife from time to time :lau

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

Huge Irish family that I was adopted into, currently living the dream of being a husband and father to two. We have a cat named Tali'Zorah nar Rayya (Tali for short), I have 5 comet goldfish. I own two LLC's and I am a partner in a third - my main being as an electrician, my former and less-involved being an asset manager (Previously Licensed Investment Advisor) operating de minimis for friends and family.

Looking forward to getting to make some friends and help and get help anyway we can for the chickens of the world

Sure! Here is a couple the day we brought them home and some I just snapped of them in my brooder box!

I'd be very thankful if anyone could help me guess the age of them so I can better take care of them

Oh probably just a couple of days old. They'd need heat at around 90-95F. They'll tell you as they'll be chirping if they're cold.

One neat thing to do is I take a plastic peanut butter lid, fill it with their chick crumbles and sprinkle water over it so their soaked. The little buggers go nuts over it.

They are sure adorable!
