I have a chicken that has a hole through its side about the size of a quarter, it is slightly deep, and has definitely went through the skin, what should I do? Any and all advice is much appreciated

Sounds as if you're pretty sure it's not gone into the abdominal cavity: - That would need antibiotics at a minimum and if organs are damaged, culling or surgery.

I've had really good results with cleaning the wound (You can use saline or a Betadine solution), and dressing the wound with Neosporin to keep it moist and infection-free.

Vetericyn (I think that's right) spray works really well too. If your other chickens aren't pecking at the wound I think that's will be enough for healing. They're pretty tough.

The organs are intact, they are my Cornish meat chickens and my rooster somehow got in with them, I'm not sure how to heal the skin for it is not there, will it scab over or what?

I'm no expert by any means, but I would assume that the wound would heal properly from the inside out (towards the skin) as it would with most any other animal, as long as it's kept clean and treated. The skin would grow back, but I'm not sure on the feathers.

If you use veterycin 3 times a day, it will help the healing process and help fight off or keep away infection. Once skin grows back then so will the feathers. My hen got scalped one day by another hen. If you pulled up her skin you could see all the way down her back ad blood in her body. I used veterycin and she has healed nicely..
