Hole in Crop

I have a hen that has had sour crop for the past few days. She progressed well so we let her out for the day. When checking on her, she had a hole in her crop. No idea if a chicken picked it or if something scratched it. Any suggestions to help her? Can it be fixed or should we put her to sleep? Thanks in advance.

I would probably put her down, if she were mine. She's got blood on her beak, do you think she may have done it herself?

There's no repairing that. damage is ragged and tissue is too damaged and dried out. Yes, she needs to be euthanized.

I am sorry about your hen. Predators sometimes attack crops.

I am so sorry. It this wasn't a predator it's possible the crop ruptured from being too full, slow, sour and impacted crops are hard on the lining of the crop. I think she needs to be put down.
