Sorry to hear about your losses. I have my flock behind poultry netting most of the time. It packs quite a punch and I've had no attacks on my flock yet.

Welcome to BYC. Hope that the dog problem has been remedied. Electric fencing quickly educates most predators.

We have had them in what we call our “redneck” coop (tposts, poultry wire, pvc pipes bent over the top, chicken wire over the top and half covered with lovely blue tarps). It has worked pretty well as the attacks happened when they were free ranging unattended ‍ We are building a “real” coop with buried wire. Your suggestion would make it Fort Knox! Thank you

There is always space for more members on the BYC roost! Buried wire would work better, especially if you are using chicken wire. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
