Holly, Lisa's and Lexa's Silkie Hatching Egg Countdown

This is my first Silkie babies if they hatch. Cross your fingers!!

*UPDATE* So I candled today, I have 5 possibly 6 babies and two infertiles, I left the infertiles to see if maybe they are just catching up since it is only day 7! I will candle again on day 12 and let you know whats going on!!! WOO babies lol!!!

Well, I had 30 eggs due to hatch on or close to the 13th and I am down to 29 (I think). I found out 5 days ago that 1 has a chip and one has a small crack. Candled both and they were alive and kicking.

I did not do anything to the cracks, so I will let you all know if they make it the next 9 days or sooner. I have 6 or 7 Blue Andalusians (shipped to me) out of 12 that seem to be fertile, due on the 18th. I cannot wait for these guys. Since I am wanting a rooster or 2, I am sure they will all be hens.

Congrats to everyone that seems to be doing good, the waiting game is the worse part.

I got some silkiex due around the 15th. Actually they are showgirls. I got six of ebay and all were fertile and are developing!!!! Not sure of the colors. I am both excited and a bit scared too. What if i think they are ugly??? Oh let them be cute please.

My 4 silkie eggs hatched, they are blue and splash. Very fluffly. I also had a standard cochin which was a surprise. I was ready to throw the egg out and it peeped at me.lol

I have 2 more eggs in the hatcher one is a cochin the other could be another silkie.

I have 22 eggs in the bator right now I place them in there on the 28th of March so they're due I believe the 18th of this month? am I correct? can I join in also? They're all MUTTS! 15 are shipped from fredster and 7 eggs are mine! 3 are standard and 4 are bantams and fredster eggs are standard. I candled today and I could see that all my 7 eggs are growing and all white-shelled eggs from fredster are growing also. I couldn't see very good on the brown ones but I did saw something in some of them that were kinda light brown

I gave my friend 21 eggs for his incubatoer and this morning he had 17 hatched and 2 on the way. Nothing from the other 2 yet.

Now im down to 20! =[ I was candling all brown eggs and it seemed that one had a blood ring and the other one had a black dot that was sticked to the shell. So I took them out and I cracked them open, the one with the blood ring was a blood ring, the other one had like a purple thing on the shell! there were no blood vessels so that was not a chick. I have a few questions.

1.) If I place my eggs on March 28 and today is April 5 what day am I on?

2.) When its day 18? so I can stop turning?


I've been counting and each time I count I get a different number so I really need some help!
