Hei, building a backyard coop for about 10 chickens at the moment. New to the forum and not used to the search function. Another problem is that I am not used to special "chicken" language, so I just post my questions directly.
I will take care of my flock, and I have neighbors to help. But in case of an unexpected trip, how long could the flock stay alone?
Food provided, automatic water supply, and a somewhat smaller emergency range outdoors.
Ok, there will be some risks, injury, disease or unexpected emergencies. I would miss some eggs and probably get unwanted breeding.
I live in Norway, but I have family in different European countries and unexpected trips will happen sooner or later.
So, what time limit would you set for my coop?
Thanks
Peter

I would want to find some one to check on my flock late in the day to make sure they are ok, and eggs collected------every day. You having all automatic just makes the "friend" checking for you---job easier----just look and get the eggs.
