Made a cannister of Master Mix this morning. 8 cups of mixed flours, with the other dry ingredients. Marked it with what would need to be added to make: pancakes, biscuits, quick bread.

Easy Christmas gifts on a shoe string:

Plan to have grand kids over to make either cookies in a jar, or master mix for their parents. Will make fabric bags for each of the grand girls, and pot up a plant for GS. (He wants a plant for his room, so will do a nice pot, and maybe even a macrame hanger for it so it won't take up horizontal surface space.)

The adults in the family drew names out of a hat, so only one gift to buy. We will continue to buy simple gifts for the kids, though. It feels so great to be scaling back. And, it's good that our kids are on the same page about that!

YES INDEED those are all great ideas, very good..!!! now i like to give food gifts away, from tiny apple pies from my apple trees and so forth , i usually dont buy hardly any thing, every thing is still home & hand made HA, when my 5 kids were young and my first husband had died, and all my life i did every thing by hand out of things i had around , so i made all the gifts, & wreaths for gifts & and all of it by hand, i love the the string pop corn with cranberries on the tree & never killed a tree but took the top off a tree for the xmas tree from the 2000 ace forest we lived in, i didnt have any store bought ornaments, did not have the money for any of that , so i covered the tree in fancy home made xmas cookiies baked in my 100 year old French cast iron cook stove , and boy did turkey cooked in there come out great, we made salt doe ornaments , some ribon candies & candy canes some ginger bread man an ladies..lol...and other hard candies and lights on the tree i made knitted gifts, hats of all kinds all colors and shapes, i hand painted tee shirts, some hand made clothes and other hand made things i did some leather work and made dolls out of my youngest childs clothing that were to small for them along with their tiny sneakers & shoes, with heavy stocking for the head button eyes yarn for hair with a winter hat gloves for the hands sox for the feet , and my youngest would carry his doll friend around when he went to town with his gramma and a toy store owner saw his BURT doll & wanted me to make them for sale, HA but i had no time for that, i had stayed up till all hours making xmas gifts, for months & i had a farm to run & 5 kids to care for, so after, my husband had died, i took in another 3 kids that were home less we found them trying to survive in the forest and it was coming on to winter, so i had raised 6 teens 3 were mine & the other 3 i found were boys , plus i was still raising babies i had one baby boy and one year old boy so all together i raised 8 kids on my own, mine & some one else s, but it was a good life & all my kids learned many short cuts from me , on how not to spend money they didn't need to spend , they are all doing well and still call mom for advice. but i love an old fashioned Christmas , and every one enjoyed the edible tree:thumbsup....HA :D;) granted i had to keep the dogs & cats away from the tree ....lol.. but it was always a great real fun Christmas for us all..!!!:highfive: o and one other thing i know how to make a quick apple pie when you have no apples its called a mock apple pie & its made from ritz crackers....lol...loi.. and it dose taste like an apple pie in a way ....lol...
