Sunday 2/2:
  1. I cleaned the eggs under running warm/cool water with a soft cloth because many of them were covered in poop.
This could be why so many started growing but stopped. Water will break down the shell's bloom and enter the pores of the cuticle, providing opportunities and a way for bacteria to enter the shell. Lots of eggs have hatched perfectly with slightly dirty shells. If you are going to rinse the eggs, use hand hot water and don't scrub.
If there are any that are way too dirty, I would use a cloth to brush off excess debris.

I was afraid of this. They were so dirty and I saw so much conflicting information about cleaning them. I tried to be as gentle as possible but it was caked/dried on poop on many of them. 😞 Thank you.
