honeymoon ideas ??

The wife and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon and it was the best! We're now huge fans of cruises. You get lodging, entertainment, travel and great food for a pretty good price. We're cheap, so we went during the "off season" and saved a ton of money.

If you're thinking Cancun / Mexico then there are cruises that hop all around those places.

nifty chic. i would like to go on a cruise but my my mrs doesnt..well we still havent booked anything yet..were now thinking about going to greece { corfu maybe}..we went there last year with out the kids and had a brill time..warm, crystal clear waters, all incl bar and restraunt next to the beach,, and its cheaper and only 4 hrs away,,can i say any more ,,,, have any of you guys been. ????

I've been to the Greek island of Santorini. It's really beautiful, and there is even a volcano there . . . there is also a port which has cruise boats and day trip boats, if you fancy it.

You can get cheap flights to the US through easyjet et al, and then once you get there, the exchange rate makes it rediculously cheap (remember when everyone was buying their xmas presents in New York, and funding the flights using the savings?) As for which bit of the US, then I think the other members are the experts on that one lol.

Jamaica, "Labadee" (Haiti), Nassau - be careful of going off the beaten path - they are 3rd world countries!

I know sod all about Jamaica, but going off the beaten path in a third world country is great fun . . . last December I turned up with my dad in southern India on a flights only basis - no hotels booked. We slept overnight on a sleeping carriage (there was one guy who wanted to practice his English) to Madurai, got out, and found a hotel at 5.30am, two big backpacks on our backs. Apart from the occasional young man who either a) thought my dad was my pimp (happened once) or b) wanted a picture with me (happened four times) or c) groped me (happened once) or d) told me I was very beautiful (happened more times than I care to count) it was great fun, and we came back unscathed lol.

Greetings! The swimming is great in Greece, but you wanted to snorkel right? There's really isn't much to see under the water IMO, but otherwise Greece is great!

I always smile when I hear honeymoon. My husband and I were very broke and camped and hiked the Grand Canyon, it was very earthy but sooooo beautiful. The funny part... my hubby said make sure you get some stakes. Being the proud bride that I was and wanting to make my DH sooooo proud, I went to the store and picked out the thickest steaks. We get to the canyon and DH is putting the tent up, where's the stakes honey? I'm thinking is he already hungry??? We have work to do. They are in the cooler! He promptly answered back... Hope their T-Bones! Our tent was a hobnodge of rope, rocks, sticks and trees linbs.
So, I suggest the Grand Canyon! Guess you can call me DB dumb bride. that was 17 years ago.

Congrats!

I would recommend Costa Rica - its beautiful, safe and relatively inexpensive. They speak Spanish but English is widely known and used. I just got back in January after a month long stay. Tabacon hot springs resort under Arenal Volcano is the most beautiful place in the world!

Jamaica is beautiful but it is very hot right now. I was there 2 years ago on a mission trip and the only time it as cool was when he took a short trip on a catamaran (sp?)
As for Cuba I don't know what it is like for a non-American tourist to go. Again I was there on a mission trip so I wasn't out sight seeing too much but we did go to Havana and it was beautiful. I don't know about snorkling. Don't know that there is much to see on thier shores. Very hot right now too. I know they do cater to alot of Europeans and have spas and such but none that we ever saw.
I like your idea of Greece. Wouldn't mind going myself. We never went on a honeymoon so I told DH that when he retires he will be making up for it as I hope to do world missions.
