hooligans

Again the saga continues...
Today i was cleaning out the baby chick box in the patio room (all of my chickens grew up in that spare room). The bigger guys noticed that the door was cracked and came in to see what i was doing (they love going back in that room any chance they get). Well Gilda, my RIR roo, poked his head in their box out of curiousity (i thought nothing of it) but within a second he jumped in and stole their teddy bear (technically gilda grew up with it too). I turned and saw him running with it in his beck back to his coop!

He put it underneath, where he sleeps. Guess he wanted it back!

I'm a new chicken owner but I never knew they could carry such big stuff. That is too funny. You're going to have to check the nests a lot. Next the keys will be gone.

Can I borrow them?

Dh lost his wedding ring while brushhogging. He ran over a nest of yellowjackets and pulled off his gloves to scrape them off his face. Off came the ring. We used a metal detector all last summer and never found it. Maybe I should let my girls freerange this spring. I could reward them with mealworms if they find it.

OMG.... the picture in my mind of a roo running with a teddy bear in his mouth is just too much!!!!

too funny! All my Sumatra Roo's have ever stolen is a dead mouse from my cat! Yup, the cat is smart and scared of them. He dropped it, one of them picked it up and ran off with it. Didn't eat it thankfully. I'll have to put teddy bear outside and see what happens!

Please forgive how bad the pics are (they were taken after dark and by a camera phone)(side thought:why is it when cute things happen that there is never a camera nearby?)

This is Gilda's teddy bear that he put in the coop to sleep with (he slept with it as a baby)
