You can also take a 1x3 board and secure it to the framing with the wire in between it and the 2x4.

if you stabilize the wire with a few fence staples and follow with the 1x3 it saves your fingers, time and is extremely secure. No worrying about staples pulling out over time.

Make sure you use fence staples.

Electric/cable staples work pretty well, too; just don't waste your time trying to keep stock panels in place with them (don't ask).

I put my HC on the outside of cattle panel and inside bottom frame, screwed with washer from inside.

Yea that is what I was asking about. I think that seems the most secure way. That' how I'm gonna do it. Either with washers or layered between 2 boards like another person on here said. Thanks!

Not sure layering boards would be defective with the cattle panel in between too.
With the HC securely attached to panels you could almost use arrow staples to attach to base frame.

I agree.
If layering with boards it may be better having the small wire be the only thing in the middle. That would put the OP's hardware cloth to the outside. That being said, the screws with fender washers like the picture work better if wanting to keep the hardware cloth inside the frame.

I did secure chain link to my base 2x6's on my big run using 2x2's. It is working well there but I did use 3" screws.

Ok guys have another question. I am putting hc over my cattle panels. Should I cover the entire thing or just around the bottom. My concern is if I don't put in on the top won't the raccoons and things be able to get through the tarp and holes. Thanks guys!

Yes, cover the whole thing.
Some folks don't...but I would.

Cover the entire thing with the HC. If you don't the nasty critters will find a way in WAY to easy.

Do you have cage clips and cage clip pliers?
They work extremely well to hook hardware cloth to hardware cloth.
