I got 5 PBR's pullets from Hoovers last year (2020). Out of the five 1 looks like the one in the picture. She is an excellent layer though. She did start laying about 4 weeks after the other four who started at about 19 weeks. She rarely misses a day. Started laying in January.

I think it humorous that birds are called Kosher Kings. The term "Kosher," refers to the way Jews slaughter their birds.. Arabs slaughter the same way and call it Hallah. Basically both ways have the birds bleed out.

Has nothing to do with breed of chicken.
Well.....do not think that is quite what it means. I think it means "Fit" in Hebrew. So, in Jewish terms it means any kind of food that is fit for consumption by Jewish people. It is not just dealing with birds.

I say all that, but I am not Jewish. So I may not have explained it all.

But, why they call these Kosher Kings.......I do not have a clue.

I am Jewish though not much of a cook. But, I come from several generations of Jews and great cooks. Turkeys, my mother purchased were also kosher and if I recall correctly were from Norbest brand. My grandparents were Orthodox Jews and very strict about Kosher law.
Oh my, and here I am telling you what Kosher means! Please forgive me.
