Hoovers hatchery chicks

I had three personal orders from them this year and the store my husband works for had six......I was personally involved with the receipt and care of those as well. All orders, save one, was healthy, lively and without issue. The one, the first the store got, suffered significant shipping stress due to neglect on the part of the employee in charge of chicks at that point.....couldn't be bothered to pick them up when they came on do they sat for several extra hours at the post office...which is how/why I got sucked into the whole mess for the rest of the orders. Treated properly and picked up promptly there were no further issues.
Those I kept and grew out myself (the personal orders were joint orders so not all birds were mine) all thrived and have developed into lovely birds, those I sold at various ages have gone likewise gir their new owners

Very good to know. Thank you all. I feel much more relaxed about it now. I had read a few places (not Hoovers) people were having troubles with all of them showing up alive. So pretty much just show up to the post office asap. Thank you all

Most of the time when you get dead ones, the issue is slow delivery. I got a shipment of quail shipped Tuesday, didn't get here until Saturday! Only one survivor. They were grown birds, not chicks but they can only last so long without water.

Two thumbs up from me!

I greatly appreciated my experience with Hoover's...I ordered 15 babies two weeks ago. All the chicks were active and healthy upon arrival, great looking little ones.
They came in a holed box, clearly marked ("live baby chicks - please rush"), cushioned with a "grass pad," and a blob of the green food goo.

At this time, they are two weeks old and still doing wonderfully!
