Tonight we put the 8 week olds in the coop to sleep with the big one year old girls.
There was a scuffle at first...but with some soft talk, petting and a board between them
they have calmed down

I keep going out to check on them (worried mother hen).
Hope this works out.
I think the only reason there was a scuffle was because the little girls were in the big girls spot.
I moved them and that helped.
Keep your fingers crossed for the peeps please.
They have been spending days together...and I want this a all time thing.

Sending good thoughts of one big, happy flock your way. Isn't integration a nail biter?

Good luck with them.

There will be some pecking order rearranging and that is natural and to be expected. If it gets ugly and someone has been hurt, then you should intercede to remove the injured bird. Otherwise, they'll work it out themselves in a week or two and then go about their chickenly business as usual.

Try not to worry too much, mama hen
